It’s wild that police are comfortable pepper spraying protestors sitting in a public park & arresting anyone, but not helping when someone posts my address online & says their thousands of followers should kill me, & somebody actually shows up & asks me how to find Ryan Marino.
This is a true story about posting vaccine facts online.
Fuck antivaxxers.
Fuck antivaxxers.
I can tell a dozen stories about how police have tried to accuse me of things I didn’t do (apparently there were no other “Ryan Marino’s” in Western PA when someone was threatening people with a gun on Facebook) & zero stories of being helped by police when I asked them for help.
For the above story - I was a resident physician at the time and had an officer with a gun come into my home (I owned) with gun unsheathed at 2 am to interrogate me. I showed him that a quick search identified more than 2 dozen Ryan Marinos in the area.
Fuck that noise.
Fuck that noise.
When I needed help I was told that I didn’t deserve it because written death threats and people showing up to my office weren’t crimes. (Reader: they are crimes.)
I may not be the most interesting or smartest or published or have any superlative at all when it comes to #medtwitter.
But I try to be here to share my own narrow field of expertise with everyone because they deserve to hear it.
And I’m not going to stop.
