I just realized how bad the Wizards of Waverly Place S3 and S4 plotlines are — so so many things wrong with it and also Mason is the worse than Dean. 1/
So basically Mason comes in and brute forces his way into Alex’s life, lies to her about being a werewolf, and then professes love to Justin’s vampire girlfriend 2/
So then instead of really apologizing he tries to convince Alex that being in love with her is enough to fix this mess? He forces his way into her apartment and takes her to Transylvania for a magic love detection necklace to prove his love - because it wasn’t apparent enough 3/
So when they’re in Transylvania, Justin (love him) suggests that the mission to find the necklace is a bust and instead of reasoning with the team, Mason turns FULL WOLF to FIGHT Justin so Alex will stay and put this stupid necklace on him 4/
Keep in mind that Mason could just have gone to Transylvania to get the necklace himself, then meet Alex where she was, crying on the couch above Waverly Sub Station - instead he dragged her to the site of heartbreak so HE could feel some closure about hurting her 5/
So he and Justin are fighting, which is completely unfair, and then Juliet (vampire girlfriend) jumps in. Mason SCRATCHES Juliet, immediately taking her wings away and permanently depriving her of vampire powers, causing her body to age into the 2000+ year old she really is 6/
She leaves Justin within 5 minutes after transforming because he needs to be with someone younger (for his sake, great girlfriend move) and staggers off into the Transylvanian forest? Meanwhile Mason sulks and Alex puts the necklace on him 7/
...because it’s STILL not clear he loves her (because he sucks) and then she HUGS HIM and tells him to stay, but he tells her he “can’t control himself” as a wolf, which is what has to happen since Juliet bit him (turning him into a wolf permanently) 8/
So Mason literally turns into a wolf and goes to the forest too. And NOW neither Alex nor Justin have a partner and they’re SAD. The only person who should be sad is Justin - why is Mason considered good at this point?? 9/
To review: Mason has been totally manipulative and ruined Juliet’s life by depriving her of her born powers, relationship, wings, youth, and friends. And he deeply hurt and confused a very vulnerable teen girl when he’s literally hundreds of years old himself. 10/
I have a feeling this will get 2 likes and they’ll be from my entertainment friends and someone who feels bad for me but I’m genuinely shocked I thought this was love when I was 10. I think shows like this contribute to the way teen girls accept manipulation and mistreatment :-|
