Anyone ever notice the costs of the lessons posted on @TpT_Official, in particular the ones that draw on "sharing" lived experiences & stories from diverse populations and communities? Ever think about the ethics behind it? 1/5
Lessons focus on using diverse community knowledges can be found there for a fee. Some upwards of $6, $15, and so on for each download, with many downloads noted. What is going on? 2/5
Who benefits? How much does @TpT_Official and the educators make off of peoples lived experiences with no connections? No relationships established? And objections from community people like me who do not agree with the the sale/use of these lessons... 3/5
This includes how @TpT_Official & the related educators are making money off my granny's experience. They're making money off of my family. And many other diverse individuals, families, and communities as well. 4/5
Scrolling the @TpT_Official site now, searching using book titles from recent diverse book lists & adding up the numbers. What is going on here? Ethics? Standards? So many questions.

➡️ Where is @TpT_Official's commitment to equity & diversity? @  5/5
So @TpT_Official has a List. Anti-Tpt and just added me. While other organizations
/businesses grow & seek to develop equity & diversity standards, it's problematic when this is their response to an Indigenous woman asking for community stories to be respected.
Update: I reported the list via Twitter's hateful conduct policy. This policy says that people may not promote violence against or directly attack or threaten other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, etc. Twitter removed the list. #thankyou ...1/6
I reported the "anti-tpt group list" cause it's wrong, given the fact they're choosing to intentially add people from diverse backgrounds (me!) without their permissions, as their response to not wanting to confront the issue. An example of a #microagression. 2/6
I also reported the "anti-tpt group list" because my family & other diverse communities have endured generations of racism, discrimation, oppression, and so on. 3/6
No biz has the right to add me to a group that is not addressing what is needed: ANTI-racism, ANTI-discrimination, ANTI-oppression, ANTI-bias policies/standards. It's not okay to silence or intimate anyone questioning ethics, especially when that business is profiting of it. 4/6
In addition, the education workers who post to this site need to reflect the standards they set for themselves when it comes to commiting to diversity & writing teaching materials. 5/6
I'm thinking particularly about copyright issues & taking materials from conference talks by diverse speakers from conferences (myself included) without permissions. Intellectual property exits. Copyright exists. 6/6
*intimidate (update to 4/6)
