Janus is apollo's roman counterpart. He's sometimes represented as a doorway or arch as henis said to be able to look both back in time and forward.

More on the Apollo Janus connection. Apollo has a duality one side is light and the other dark (destroyer) his dualism is again apparent in his place in the pantheon with his sister as he is one half of a dualistic twin dynamic. Artemis is his twin sister.
Janus is not the roman equivalent of hermes as some would have it, but more appropriately connected with both apollo and chronos who is represented by saturn (the black sun)
Apollo's sign is the sun wheel. We can see this sun wheel in relation to Zeus as well (More on this later). Much of this is based on directional resting place of the cast shadow of an object at the center of the wheel
In ancient greece and later rome, which was a spiritual rebirth of grecian religious pantheon, Zeus and Apollo were associated with this same sun wheel represented as a superimposed greek Chi and Iota here we have the senate Sigma(left) and Janus/apollos chi iota sun wheel
chi iota is elsewhere in roman coinage often accompanied by manifestations of Janus, apollo, or hermes. Often accompanied by the quadringa(the 4 horsed chariot) this representation is meant to clarify that this is indeed the same diety. The chariot wheel doubles as a sun sign

Zeus is apollos father & apollo's son transferred to roman pantheon is vadiovis or vajovis. He is the only one of apollo's sons that was made a focal god in greece and the roman pantheon. His sign is where we get the asklepius staff. Hermes is also heavily tied to the caduceus
Bear with me this ties in. The origins of this unholy trinity relationship aren't new and in fact stem from their ancient middle eastern seat of power. It is very likely that hermes was originally a snake god as well as represented as a staff held by Inanna/ishtar(artemis)
This Babylonian caduceus is thought to have anthropomorphized from a divine quality in snake staff form into a god such as we see in greece with hermes. Both the asklepios staff and Hermes caduceus have much in common

Now let's get back to the superimposed chi iota sun wheel we talked about earlier. In revelation 13 discusses a mark of the beast yes but let's talk about the number of the beast (which to be fair in many translations is the mark)

Numbers but rather give us greek letters in the textus Vaticanus we get Chi Xi and what many have called Stigma( greek numeral equivalent 6)...however this may be FALSE(more on this in a minute)
In codex A and Codex c however they both confer and say the number (literally the amount or measured unit, count, total, multitude) is Chi Iota stigma.
There is a problem with the gematria route translation as we do not know if the chi xi stigma was actually chi sigma final sigma or chi sigma stigma(which is a ligature of sigma and tau together) although the previous language used by John may imply isopsephy it is not confirmed
chi xi stigma has an issue because the scribes could have meant final sigma not stigma(which again is a ligature of sigma and tau meaning 6) which would mean 200, they could have also copied it using a corinthian iota which looks like a xi, this would fit with the other codecis
The chi iota sigma from the other two codecis also has an issue as it could have been a final digamma...although unlikely its a possibility. The only reason why our current translations attributed isopsephy onto the letters is due to Irenaeus who was a student of polycarp who...
Was rumored to be a student of John the revelator. Irenaeus fought for the translation of chi xi sigma to be chi 600 xi 60 and STIGMA 6 using his relationship to John as clout. However no such relationship can be verified at all even by polycarp himself
Could it be that it's less about the gematria(summation) and more about the signage and meaning of greek letters? If the chi xi sigma of the textus Vaticanus is actually chi corinthian iota final sigma this would fit with the other codecis as well as the meaning of the letters.
Chi iota and final sigma(which means synthesis and implying the chi iota being together) could be a possiblity and would definitely bring the sun wheel into the greco/roman mindsets understanding of revelation 13 itself.
This would also match with the mention of mark to the early churches which was mostly understood as not just an etching but an imprint as what one would see on coinage
This possiblity certain recalls the previous principality of apollo into understanding. Could this arithmos be about measurement? Could john have been cleverly nodding to a multitude of things pointing to the same thing? the X I and semuncia found in roman calculi of the time
