The Biden-Harris ticket is so perfectly emblematic of the Great Replacement.

You have senile Biden, who plays up his Rust Belt white-ethnic origins but who has trimmed his sails for decades to remain in the good graces of the Dem Party as it moved from old left to new left...

And then you have mix-‘n’-match rootless cosmopolitan Kamala from Berkeley, who was put on the ticket precisely because of her post-American identity bona fides...

Obama was at least half self-hating WASP, which is at least a very American thing to be (albeit not a sustainable thing to be, inasmuch as one ends up giving birth to a kid with a name like “Barack Obama.”)

But Harris is thoroughly post-American. What’s more, being from post-60s Berkeley, it wouldn’t even occur to her that America is anything other than an abstraction

One can’t call her a quisling, b/c I doubt she even understands that there was a nation before the Current Year...

I look at someone like Harris and I can honestly say that I have nothing in common.

As it happens, I’m half southern Brahmin myself, but even there, the bugmen at the end of history have left their ancestral home behind as much as they’ve left their adoptive home behind...

I feel so utterly alienated from the United States of America—which is to say, the empire of neoliberalism.

At a superficial level, Trump was kind of a fun, nostalgic last hurrah, but in Biden-Harris the empire has the ticket that best reflects what it has actually become.

For the first time in my life, I really dislike the United States of America. It is the single greatest threat to the old American nation on this planet.

I don’t mean that in some dumb fedpoast way. I don’t really know what decent people can or should do...

But I guess, if nothing else, you can tell the truth about what you think.
