A part from being compassionate to Fka Twigs, I also really loathe that people are going to use Shia abusing her as an excuse to continue the 'we can't trust white men' cycle.
Like, ya'll deadass realize that poor and working men of all colors abuse women just as much?? ->

And let me add nuance to that statement: I mean that while under the pressure of Capitalism, social expectations, etc, men take out their frustration on their partners and people they're socialized to view as weak.
That increases as you hit the poverty line and below.

And if you add cross-cultural patriarchal expectations of different ethnic groups to be the heads of the family, leaders, etc, it gets very very dicey because it'll be exceptionally difficult to teach them to be vulnerable and see others as equal to them.
POC and poor and working men have to deal with so many layers of inherited baggage and trauma from the men in their lives who pass their demons onto them and are often neurodivergent and trauma riddled and need so much love and help.
I /hate/ that we turn white men into a catchall for discussions about toxic masculinity and abuse of power when half of the people on social media don't have good relationships w/ their dads or have other scars bc POC men and Shia were socialized the exact same way.
Like, are ya'll showing as much attention to the black, brown, and poor men in your lives that need love, support and therapy? Understanding?
Pinning everything on white people is honestly the most infuriating fucking mistake.
