What Exactly Are Eurothentic Features?: A THREAD
Lately I’ve been seeing the word “featurism” and “eurothentic” being thrown around lately. These two words I specifically use on black women who happen to be conventionally beautiful.
This word has been thrown around a lot and incorrectly used so today I wanted to establish what are the facial features of a European person versus an African person.

European people having angular features is one of the reasons why they have straight noses and thinner lips. They also tend to have a sharper Cupid’s bow because of this.
One myth when it comes to eurothentic features is that small noses are eurothentic. This is false. It isn’t the case that smaller noses are eurothentic. It’s the fact that straight and defined noses are eurothentic.

As opposed to eurothentic features, we black women tend to have less angular and more round features. Our side profiles tend to be curvy. The common Africa trait of having more round features is exactly why we have more plump lips and flat noses
African women’s side profile tend to protrude more forward than Europeans side profile.
Another thing about eurothentic features VS Afrocentric features is our cheekbones. Because eurothentic features are more angular, their cheekbones tend to be more chiseled. On the other hand, African cheekbones are more round.

The reason why I wanted to make this right is to remind everyone that Being conventionally beautiful does not automatically equate to being eurothentic.

The two can clash but we often accuse a black girl of being mixed because she’s beautiful. As if blackness is ugly
