Why do I support RB Leipzig?

[THREAD]
As many of you guys know im a supporter for the East German football club RB Leipzig. Many of you asked me how I became a supporter so in this thread I am going to tell you my story!
My first ever memory of the city of Leipzig goes back to when i was 6. We stopped at the city for a little city trip on the way back from Prague to Alkmaar. I loved trains back then so we went to the Leipzig Hauptbahnhof and me and my parents went on to watch some trains.
I still remember from that there was a small model train set at the station (my german followers know) where you could put in a 1 euro coin and then the little train starts to ride. during that city trip the city got a place in my heart!
My family isn't a football family, I got in to football by my self when I was around the age of 8/9. Ive never supported a club in my childhood to be honest. I do live closely to the AZ stadium so I went with my family a couple of times to the matches there..
but I still didnt really feel connected to the club. I did have a favorite player of the club tho when i was 10, a player called Roy Beerens.

My grandfather is from Erfurt a city in the east of germany, thats the main reason i got in to german football!
The first time I found out about the existence for RB was in 2015 when the club still played in the 2. Bundesliga. I just started to follow them since I followed a couple of clubs at that time.
and by follow them i mean watch the scores on onefootball and follow their news. I didnt have Foxsports which is a TV channel in holland where you can watch bundesliga and 2. bundesliga so I couldnt watch most of the matches.
But sometimes i did manage to find a stream so i could still tune in luckily! I loved the parade in the city when we got eventually promoted!
In the meantime dutch youtuber @RaoulJoshua created a video about the football club about why RB Leipzig were hated. I was about 13 when it came out and didnt even know they were hated so i started watching the video which gave me some background info about the club.
After i started to watch more videos on the matter and educated myself more about the club.
When I graduated from middle school to high school my dad promised me to take me on a trip to a European destination of my own choice. So I chose to visit an RB Leipzig match. My dad was enthusiastic about the idea since Ive hyped him up about the club and the match.
We went to RBL against Hertha BSC at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig during the debut season of RBL in the Bundesliga (2016/17). My favorite player of RBL back then was and till this day still is Emil Forsberg. After watching him playing in the matches RBL played..
before the Hertha match it became clear to me that he was a special player. He is such a magician he can see passes no other player on the field can see, a truly special player for me.
I was very excited for the match against Hertha and on Friday the 16th of december 2016 after school me and my father headed to Leipzig to enjoy my most memorable football match in my life.
we arrived late that evening at around 8 pm. We visited an Weihnachtsmarkt in Leipzig and it was beautiful the city felt immediately like home! After a goodnight sleep it was Matchday! We got up early and went into the city to do some shopping.
We went to the RBL fanshop and no not the new one but the old one. The old RBL Fanshop wasnt in a shopping street. The shop was hard to find and small. When we arrived my father told me I was allowed to get an RBL Jersey with a player name!
I had chosen the RB Leipzig Home kit with Forsberg on the back, its an amazing kit and till this day my favorite RBL kit weve ever had. My father bought an RBL lifestyle shirt and so we were good to go to visit the match!
We got a Tram and went to the stadium. The admosphere around the stadium was amazing, it was so nice and unlike anything ive seen before (only visited AZ matches prior). I immediately felt at home and connected to the club!
I really liked the stadium admosphere it self as well and so we went on to watch the match, we got some Christmas hats at our seat! The match self wasnt even that good we won 2-0 from Hertha with goals from Timo Werner just before HT and a goal from Orban in the 62 minute.
After the match we went back to the hotel with the Tram. This was a moment for me to never forget, everyone in the tram just began to sing RBL club songs. I will never forget the ride back to the Hotel.
Since that weekend I try to watch every RB Leipzig game if possible and I began calling my self a Fan :)
The older I get the more I understand why our club is hated in Germany. The same goes for our philosophy, the older i get the more i appreciate it and the creator, Ralf Rangnick.
So for the people who asked me why I am a fan of this club, this is my story!

@DieRotenBullen thank you for being part of my life ♥️
