...when a great blue heron comes over to claim the prize.

To the victor goes the spoils. It's a bird-eat-bird-after-scaring off-bird-eating-bird kind of world.
As it turns out, the heron took only a bite, and the harrier came back to get the rest (and show off what a beautiful bird it is).
