I wonder: what are Trumpers really feeling now, those Americans who love him & show up for him, and believe in him? Are they ashamed of his fraudulent claims, & refusal to concede with grace? I wonder. Some must be pretty miserable right now. For a few, maybe, it's agony.
It does seem that some of these Trumpers are willing to face jail as they come with guns to bully private citizens. And even Representatives in Congress are willing to risk their careers for Trump, signing on to his lies, and fantasies.
It's my belief that Trump and Trumpism will continue until we push back, & start holding them accountable in a law abiding way for criminal behavior. Anger & spite can unite people for only so long.
And even if some of Trumper grievances are rooted in economic realities, the passion needed to point a gun at a mother and her child, in support of obvious lies, has to be sustained by some enduring victory. There will be no victory.
Trumpism is a movement with no political ideas, no real heart, no future. It will perish as soon as Trump himself faces justice, and we start responding to Trumpist criminal acts as the Rule of Law demands. I wish it would start now. Why wait any longer?
