#WeAreAllAssange

1/ The case of #JulianAssange can be depressing & overhwhelming. The persecution has cost this man & his family a decade of their lives. So here is a short thread (with cartoons) summarising the key reasons, Britain must not continue to be America's lapdog
2/ This prosecution is politically motivated. The US wants to hide its horrendous record of murder, rape & torture of innocent civilians like ElMasri https://www.therenditionproject.org.uk/prisoners/khaled-elmasri.html .
It does not want to be embarrassed for the incompetence & warmongering that destroyed entire nations.
4/ #WeAreAllAssange

Evidence shows that #JulianAssange will not receive a fair trial in the US. The prison conditions even pre-trial are inhumane. He would be subject to "Special Administrative Measures" ie his lawyers & he will be silenced https://ccrjustice.org/sams-report
5/ #WeAreAllAssange

Extraditing Assange sets the wrong precedent about the extraterritorial rights of the US. Anyone revealing US criminality or information that is embarrassing to the US could be plucked out at will and sent to the US to stand trial. It criminalises journalism
6/ #WeAreAllAssange

Extraditing #JulianAssange is about implicitly legitimising torture : the torture of #Assange over the past decade and the horrors of #AbuGhraib and #Guantanamo. @Wikileaks releases helped reveal the truth #BlackLivesMatter
