I need cis people to remember that having to share your deadname with someone is an incredibly vulnerable thing and it’s not hard to address someone by the name they actually go by while also unfortunately having to use their deadname for payment and sometimes shipping https://twitter.com/ncitzen/status/1337480009313730560
I’ve had goms in the past send me emails w my deadname just because it used to be on my paypal despite the fact I was going by something else. I’ve had friends find their deadname on MASTERLISTS just because they legally have to use it for payment apps
like you need to understand how distressing this is for trans people and you’re privileged for not having this issue. if someone told you a different name then you use that one, no questions asked. it’s not hard to be respectful while asking about which name to use either
sorry for this mini rant but this comes up time and time again and it really pisses me off. we just want to be able to exist the same way you do in the buying/selling community and the ignorance sometimes is just mind blowing
