Not sure how to feel about the fact that Democrats for Education Reform, a neoliberal group that has done much to undermine the strength of public schools, is now turning its attention to racial segregation.

On the one hand, it's a problem that we should all be committed to addressing. My team did a report on the state of segregation in Massachusetts, and some of the numbers are shocking. Report here: https://cecr.ed.psu.edu/sites/default/files/Demography_Report_FINAL_7.24.20.pdf
And yet I wonder about the involvement of a group that spent so long insisting that the key was to simply invent a new school model. Not adequate and equitable funding. Not racial and economic integration. Not teacher professionalism and development.
I worry that instead of following they will try to lead.

Yet there are advocates and activists who have been leading on this issue for generations.
You want to empower them and amplify their work? Great. Me, too. Welcome aboard.

You want to run the show? (As I fear you do.) Take a hike.
OK. That's all.

Hey it's Friday. We're almost through another one of these endless weeks.
