The beauty of Islamic architectures including some infos -- a thread
Kaaba, was built by prophet Ibraham (Arbraham) & his prophet son Ismail as a monotheistic house of worship, the most sacred site. Us Muslims around the world face the Kaaba during our 5 times daily prayers. We don't worship the Kaaba, but view it as a metaphorical house of Allah
kiswa, a cloth which covers the kabah where golden calligraphy been done not only in kabah but also in mosques we see that! It's really a big part of our Islamic design! Its designed with Quranic verses & surahs that are hand-embroidered in threads of gold and silver!
Surah Al Ikhlas & 6 other verses are written in separate frames, alternating the following statements: “The most gracious, the most merciful”, “Oh you the alive, the self-subsisting”, or “praise to Allah” Kaaba is designed with more Quranic verses!
Next one's Mosque & it's 1st key of aspect is minaret it's a tall slender tower which is in the highest point of the mosque. Adnan (the call to prayers) are done from there by muezzin (who call for prayer) In Muslim countries you hear Adhan from your house
Mihrab is a semicircular niche in the wall of a Mosque that indicates the qibla, (the direction of the Kaaba) in Mecca and hence the direction that Muslims should face when praying!
The dome is symbolically, represents the vault of heaven in the same way as the garden prefigures Paradise in Islam
The minbar is a pulpit in the form of a staircase on where the imam (prayer leader) stands when delivering a sermon after Friday prayer. The pulpit is usually situated to the right of the mihrab!
Masjid Al haram the sacred place of pilgrimage in the Hajj, Muslim from all over the world comes there, we dream of to do it at least once in our lives! 'Umrah' The lesser pilgrimage can be undertaken any time of the year!
