Ok. I wanted to share some fun news, but also start with a little story for context:

End of 2016, my hyper-fixation over adaptive, or accessible, fashion began.

I planned my thesis around it, I began obsessively trying to base my entire degree in fashion marketing around it
It was hard. There was yet to be a Tommy Adaptive line, yet to be a Target line. There are 0 to no peer reviewed articles on the topic. IT WAS HARD. I really had to find loopholes to convince my lecturers that this was a viable topic to cover.

(Thank you to those who help me)
Reader: I had crumbs of research for my thesis

Enter @OpenStyleLab. The non-profit, that I didn’t know personally yet, but were the raft that kept my work & research justified, as well as afloat. (As well as Lucy Jones from @ffora_official & @Keah_Maria I both love dearly❤️)
Between 2017-19, I somehow pulled off my dissertation on The Future of Adaptive Fashion, created a website dedicated to it for my degree, but also consulted the director of the Tommy Adaptive campaign & went to Cannes.

Moral of the story: If you love it, don’t stop doing it
Anyway. Back to present day. I had the joy of being the first Communications Fellow for @OpenStyleLab over summer. We made HUGE leaps in clothing accessibility.

I can’t express how much that means to me. Going from writing/studying OSL, to being PART of it? Blew my mind
The fun news is:

🎉I am now Social Strategist & Community Manager FOR @OpenStyleLab🎉

If my mind was blown before, can you imagine what it’s like now?

I want to help OSL continue to create a community for & by disabled people. That means you, fellow disabled friend❤️
We all need clothes, it’s a human right. It’s also how we express ourselves.

Clothing is a barrier for 2 out of 3 disabled people, me included!

Disabled people have style! Disabled people enjoy clothes! @OpenStyleLab celebrates that, and we want to celebrate it with you too.
Disabled people live years ahead. I see this in our own hacked and adapted clothing. I want to make sure that you’re seen!

I look up to my OSL mentors in awe, I’m still learning so much.

Come support us at @OpenStyleLab & join the journey in democratising clothing for all❤️
