This is just the start of the NHS vaccination programme which is being rolled out over the coming weeks and months but it is the light at the end of the tunnel we were hoping for

Over the coming weeks and months it is still really important that we do not drop our guard and continue to follow the hands, space, face guidelines

The vaccine prevents people becoming as sick as they might have done previously but until the majority of people are vaccinated we still need to limit transmission opportunities. We will get to the day when grandparents can cuddle their grandchildren again but its not quite yet

We have an end in sight now and so being vigilant for a few more months is really worthwhile
