Also, I don’t think a HOF election will erase the bad things that some of these guys have done. Their election will only be the spark to a new round of discussion about the bad, I suspect.
One more thing: the book on a career is finished, while the book on a person continues to be written until they die. If you’re judging them as people, what happens if they do things that you don’t like after they’re elected?
