To my loyal @Newsweek readers: our newsroom is filled with amazing journalists and editors committed to the truth, who reject racism & bigotry. As a POC w a platform, I will always speak out against racism. This is one such time.
I have never met @mehdirhasan, but I have always remained in awe of his interview style and professionalism. I have never doubted his commitment to journalism and the truth, even when I disagree with him. To insinuate otherwise is not only false it is racist.
To my sources who have trusted me with your stories: know I will always protect your identity and that news side is separate from the opinion side.
