so, a couple quick things about yesterday’s Star Wars news that legitimately took me a whole night to process.

But, the brand and property has now reached a point where the content stream is closer to that of like say, the NFL than any movie brand.
as in, at this point, I would almost rather have a dedicated Star Wars linear TV channel with its own talk shows about the brand as well. Bc the concept of “keeping up” is just unrealistic for even people who consider themselves huge fans.

I’d watch a Star Wars morning show.
to be clear, every single part about all of this is awesome haha. But just from sheer volume of content standpoint, the Star Wars galaxy has reached a phase just like when sports leagues decided they all needed their own TV networks.
and this is exactly why it would make sense. There are too many fans that would just as soon have some person explain to them whats happening in any given series than figure it out for themselves, which is fine!

10 new series? Like fam, thats a whole other level of depth https://twitter.com/vtmikeo/status/1337415735388364800
right and this is all fine. NFL fans often do not care about how players made it to their team, but it sure helps understans the sport more.

youre exactly right. There are just too many beings on display in the galaxy to not double down on commentary content full time https://twitter.com/wil_da_beast_/status/1337417959476764673
As my man @nczeitgeist just said per this discussion on our Star Wars group chat, can you imagine a Gameday show leading up to actual Star Wars events? I for one, would watch the hell out of that.
this is a fascinating question but to me this would be in our world. Perhaps you go to actual live places and people show up just like on gameday or whatever the case may be.

the point is just that the content about the content is now borderine necessary, not just a bonus https://twitter.com/theaoster/status/1337420022239490050
A Star Wars channel would do bonkers numbers and there are simple too many generations of humans that are “galaxy native” if you will for it to not make sense
this is is natural feeling for sure. Which is exactly why a SWN (Star Wars Network) would be hugely popular. It’s enough of our real pop culture universe that we’d listen/watch people talk about it all day everyday. Especially if the shows were just plain good https://twitter.com/dreyesceron/status/1337419697063604225

I say this with all due respect to a league I respect and have my whole life and a channel I enjoy. But if the NHL Network can be a thing that’s viable, the Star Wars Network would be too on my actual television
