so i have an opinion here that may be controversial, but know that i say this with the utmost respect for the organizers and the very sweet intentions behind it, so pls dont yell at me. but i want to express that i have some reservations about this idea. here's the thing. there's so many accounts in our community that do so much for our fandom and for the boys. i am not denying that such accounts are central to our success, and i am personally grateful. and trust me, it is not lost on me that it's really not that deep+
and this idea is just trying to bring us some fun & happiness & gratitude in a tough year. but i still worry about the implications of an award system like this.

putting certain accounts on a pedestal through an explicit (tho unofficial) award system presents complications. lets be honest: we, as a fandom, have had increasing internal issues in recent months and years.+
we have fanbases that can toe the line of being solo stans, we have different opinions on translators, and i won't name names, but we've also had very large & influential army accts eventually reveal VERY problematic behavior. (and we may not even agree on who those accts are!)+
the bottom line is: no one here is a professional, we are all just fans and we do this for fun, and im not sure the value of something like this exceeds the potential negative implications.+
theres also a lot to consider about the kind of accounts we value & why, and what that says about our fandom's value system as a whole. there's even more implications in this area, but im not gonna get into it, because thats a longer thread and i have stuff to do today lol+
but please know i think the idea is very sweet, and my intention is not to attack, nor is it even to get anyone to cancel anything they have planned. i realize the impact of this idea may be low anyway. but i just want to voice my thoughts and encourage some critical thinking.
