Quick visit to St Lawrence neighbourhood. Got to check in on some “heritage” buildings
Credit to @_archAlliance_ for their ability to execute some very nice facades on cynical-developer budgets
And looking at the 1970s St: Lawrence neighborhood… For all the love this place gets, it’s worth acknowledging that some of these buildings are not very nice and their public spaces don’t work that well. This is Alan Littlewood, IIRC
The urban design logic is clear and sensible, but the place suffers from lousy build quality — and, importantly, not enough people. Lessons!
The Jerome Markson buildings around the corner are only slightly different but dramatically better. Denser, much better detailed, much better relationships to the street. Lessons.
