i would like to share the link to some of yall digital events but if there is no registration or ppl can join your zoom room just by clicking a publicly available link, it worries me. that's how my event got zoom bombed in october.
you want people to register for your event. you want them logged into their zoom accounts so you can report them if need be. you want to only admit names you recognize who signed up. you do NOT want publicly available links that take ppl straight to your zoom room
you want to disable screensharing for all guests except the hosts and presenters. you want to mute your guests upon entry. you want someone moderating the chat. if the event is attacked, you want to verbally address it immediately and check if everyone is safe to continue.
if you're hosting a panel/lecture/presentation, just do it as a webinar. keeps everyone safer.

if you want an open event, just host it for free on streamyard (a site which lets you livestream onto facebook live, youtube live, and IG live).
i've drafted a Virtual Events Rider for all my digital gigs moving forward with the help of @arvind_n1 and @glassEyeballs. i'll be sharing it as a public post on my patreon soon. everyone doing gigs on zoom needs to be asking for more digital protection from event organizers.
