Brexit novice alert @PietEeckhout but cannot believe that LPF is deal breaker

UK refusal to have to implement future EU legislation as non-EU member makes sense to me (sorry, Switzerland)

But so does the EU's request that free access to the Union be linked to current LPF

Trade agreements have common tricks to protect this “balance of concessions” at the time a deal is struck

Non-regression clauses on labor & environment
Non-violation complaints
Sunset & review provisions
Even trade remedies to some extent

LPF system that translates future regulatory difference in trade & related "tariff price" would be novel but not all that different

It respects UK sovereignty if EU tariff price is subject to neutral review

And it meets the EU’s call for LPF
