on @democracynow yesterday, i heard the prosecutor in the Brandon Bernard case say that her advocacy for his innocence would not have mattered because federal prosecutors in her district are not allowed to concede error
they made a mistake, and were NOT ALLOWED to say that they made a mistake. even if it meant that somebody would die
this is the same logic that undergirded McClesky v Kemp, that the fear of acknowledging errors and racism would then call the entire criminal legal system into question. it should be called into question, and dismantled, abolished, burned to the ground
We don't need black people and white people executed at the same rates. That's not justice. We don't want more proportional killings in the name of racial justice. We don't want the government killing people in chambers, on the streets as cops, or in wars and drone strikes abroad
