As an Etsy seller (and buyer) the real war on Christmas is still at the postal service from dejoys sabotage.

Every etsy sellers group I'm in has people freaking out about their shops getting 1 star reviews from incredible shipping delays.

I have 4 packages I've mailed in no man's land with the postal service in the last week, and I'm a minor seller

One group I'm in has a seller with 80 packages missing in tracking.

Congratulations to Dejoy and trump for a final war on Christmas battle

This is compounded for etsy sellers by Etsy running prime time TV ads to drive new customers, but without differentiation that it's not a normal e-commerce platform.

So you get amazon prime shipping expectations meeting a gutted postal service and etsy sellers shoulder the pain

It's further made worse by Etsy pushing sellers to offer free shipping guarantees and offering higher search placement in return.

This leads to sellers offering free shipping at the lowest speed.

Etsy has a deal with USPS that gets sellers ~25% off shipping costs

So you have Etsy pushing lowest shipping speed, at a discount to sellers already on tight margins

It's a massive traffic jam of packages at the slowest speed, which customers had no choice but to accept.

Sellers are screwed as a result. It's not good out there.
