Write off-page scenes from the manuscript you're waiting for to get to know your character better. It'll make the revision more realistic and meaningful organically.

And it's fun to write without the pressure of knowing this will go in your book.

And maybe it will end up there.

Write something totally different. It'll help you not feel trapped by the success of one thing and open the possibilities when you do land that agent or deal.
