1/ Today on . @tntradioempire I went over the most common questions I get re: the #COVID19 vaccine.
I'm going to post those questions w/answers (& TRY and stay in order-no guarantees!) today.

I'm gonna start with GENERAL questions:
Gen Q1: How do I get the vaccine?
A: it is an injection or shot. You will need 2 shots (2-3 wks apart). You are NOT fully vaccinated until you receive both shots.

Gen Q2: Why should I get the vaccine?
A1/2: To protect you from #COVID19! It protects you from the infection AND protects you from getting seriously ill or dying if you are infected.
And it MIGHT decrease you passing the virus to others!

Gen Q3: What is “herd immunity”?
A: it happens when the majority of the population (us 70-80%) is vaccinated: this gives #COVID19 nowhere to go & the virus dies out.

Gen Q4: Why is the #COVID vaccine taking so long to get out?
A: This vaccine has been on an accelerated but safe development strategy.
But making millions of vaccines & distributing it has many challenges, esp w/multiple doses.

A: People can be hesitant for many reasons-and that is ok! It’s good to ask questions. And we all need to educate ourselves & others around us-so thanks for asking the questions!

A: YES! These vaccines have been shown to
your risk-& quickly, regardless of sex, race, age, weight.

A: No. You need to complete ALL doses of the vaccines; and because no vaccine is 100%, we will still need to #WashHands #SocialDistance #MaskUp until we reach herd immunity.

And this is REALLY great news-this helps EVERYONE!

A 2/3: these temp RNA msgs instruct the body to make proteins—in this case, the #COVID19 spike protein. By blocking it, you prevent #COVID19.

SafeQ3 It’s too fast-it can’t be safe
A:This has been a global collaboration w/MULTIPLE groups worldwide. Operation Warp Speed in US alone worked w/CDC, HHS, BARDA, DOD & private companies.
These were rigorous clinical trials-timeline was accelerated, but steps were not skipped.

Safe Q4: I’ve heard ppl with severe allergies can’t get the vaccine?
A: 2 ppl in the UK w/severe allergies had a reaction to the Pfizer vaccine.
But it’s still unclear what happened.

A2/4 The CDC will make recs on prioritization.
HCW & frontline workers will likely be the top tier. Those in living facilities likely second tier.
We currently don’t have enough vaccine for all of them
. Plus distribution.
This is going to take time & patience.

This is a large amt of the population.

First, kids.
US EUA includes recommendation for 16+ kids to get vaccine.

So we don't have great data.
