One thing that keeps me from losing my mind in the games industry:
I don’t worry about whether or not I or my games are *important* & instead focus on being *entertaining*

I think a lot of game designers are trying to Change The World,
but deep down I’m really just trying to give you an interesting afternoon

Obviously I bake my values & opinions into my games — it’s impossible not to — but I don’t really expect that to DO anything, to be honest.
Maybe it does & I just don’t know about it.
But anyway, it’s not what I focus on. I focus on giving people tools to entertain themselves.

When I look at game designers who are more famous than I am, a lot of them seem very anxious.
It seems like there’s no point of fame where the need to be important gets fulfilled.
It’s insatiable.
I would rather be...satiable.
Entertaining whoever comes along satisfies me.

I try to promote my games to the best of my ability, because it’s my job & also my games are fun & I want to share them,
but I try not to get too caught up in the rat race

If I wanted that level of stress, I would’ve picked a WAY more lucrative career!!!
