Here's a thread about how @savechildrenuk has been helping children in the UK this year... (1/)
This year, we've provided help with food, basic goods, toys and learning packs to more than 10,000 children, working with over 90 local partners in 21 places across the UK.

Lexi-Mae and Georgina are one of the families we've helped. Here's their story https://stories.savethechildren.org.uk/fuelling-imaginations/#group-UK-txKmFx2erH
We've been able to support so many families because we've been working in local communities to help bring people together to help children.

Building these relationships has been vital in enabling community-led responses to lockdown (4/) https://www.savethechildren.org.uk/what-we-do/uk-work/in-communities
Earlier this year, we distributed more than 70,000 learning packs to children who were missing out on learning. We shared the stories of what Life Under Lockdown has been like for children. Here's 11 year old Lincoln's poem (5/) https://www.facebook.com/savethechildrenuk/videos/743526663059260/
We've been campaigning with other charities and with people across the country for more government action to help children and families, and we've been inspired by @MarcusRashford. The extra help from UK, Scottish and Welsh governments will make a real difference... (6/)
...But there's still so much more to do to help stop future cuts to social security and put in place a proper plan to support children and families on low incomes. Here's what's needed

And all of this is just @savechildrenuk's work in one country. If there's one thing we've learned from this awful year, it is the value of international solidarity and the importance of helping children wherever in the world they live. So please, Text XMAS to 70050 to donate £2
