For anyone who's read the Court of Appeal judgment in this case, which I presume includes Dolan and his lawyers, this should be the least surprising result ever.

It's nice of his backers to fund the government's defence though. https://twitter.com/simondolan/status/1337310975607910400
LET US REMIND OURSELVES HOW THIS WENT DOWN:

Dolan appealed on three grounds. The court found that two of the three grounds were so totally misguided that they weren't even going to hear the details. The third was wrong in law and also "academic" rather than substantive.
This was the unanimous judgment of a three-judge panel that include the head of the judiciary, the lord chief justice.

The court then added a six-paragraph postscript saying that Dolan and his lawyers had abused the court's time so badly they wanted the procedural rules changed.
This of course came after being refused permission to have the case heard in the high court.

The idea that it's "extraordinary" that the supreme court won't hear a further appeal is total bobbins. It would be extraordinary if they had.

Money well spent, folks.
We're fighting the virus. Dolan's fighting the vires.

We're winning. Dolan's lost.
