Thread on Iravatanesvara (Sri Jurahareswarar Temple) #Tamilnadu

This 8th century temple was built by Pallava King Narasimhavarman II. As per the legend, a demon Juraha was killed by Lord Shiva here, and hence temple got the name Jurahareswarar.

The main deity is lord shiva in the form of lingam while idols of other deities such as Kubera, Ganesha, Subrahmanaya, kathikeya and female deities can also be found here.
