I am told that this “legal advice“ has been handed out to thousands of people in the ultra orthodox Jewish community. It should not be followed. It is riddled with errors. It will lead people to getting £10,000 fines and worse https://twitter.com/ifyoutickleus/status/1337137052735975433
I will explain the problems with it later as I am about to go into a meeting but if people from the ultra orthodox community want to email me I should be able to provide help without charge
I don't really know where to start with this. A few big things:
- The advice on "gatherings/simchas" is wrong as it doesn't mention a key requirement which is that in all Tiers guests are not permitted to mingle (Tier 1 groups of 6 and Tiers 2 and 3 not at all).

This is just really irresponsible. Implies organisers of events don't have to worry if people aren't listening to them, this isn't a game.
What are "extended bubbles"? They don't exist in law or the guidance. Total nonsense.
And again fails to mention the 'no mingling' rule which is central

I am really doubtful that Sheva brachot (post-marriage parties) are part of "communal worship" per the guidance ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-for-the-safe-use-of-places-of-worship-during-the-pandemic-from-4-july/covid-19-guidance-for-the-safe-use-of-places-of-worship-from-2-december) or indeed not part of the wedding celebration which is limited to 15 people
This is just wrong wrong wrong. The larger gatherings exceptions require the organiser follows government guidance which in some circumstances means there is a *legal* requirement to socially distance
Also, as a general point, there is absolutely no reference in this "legal advice" to the central point about Covid which is the regulations and guidance are intended to keep people safe from a deadly virus. The tone is a jolly little pamphlet about getting around the rules
