So, Punjab which has a geographical area of 50,000 sq km has 424 Mandis+yards while UP at about 250,000 sq km has 615.
Remember, all FCI procurement is done through mandis.

So, defenders of these so called agri reforms (which are designed to destroy Mandis) :

- if you’re actually concerned about procuring more from UP, shouldn’t you be calling to expand the Mandi network?
