" #COVID19 has 99% recovery rate. Why Vaccine?"

This is dangerously 1-dimensional thinking.

That "99% recovery rate" has come at the cost of deferred or delayed treatment of Non-COVID pts, who by the way are equally important.

Hospitals have managed to accomodate treatments of COVID patients by having to cut down on elective surgeries, delaying treatment to non-emergency patients and pts with chronic diseases, etc.

Add to it, hesitancy of pts in going to a hospital due to fear of getting infected.
While you may bask in your "99% recovery rate" shown by the media,

Doctors and Nurses have constantly been risking getting infected in non-stop COVID duties for 10 months now.

Don't forget India's 1.5lakh deaths includes Healthcare workers as well.
#MentalHealthMatters?

The fear and apprehension of getting infected, the many many many effects of a pandemic on the mental well-being of a human being cannot be ignored either. That "99% recovery rate" doesn't mean we let this pandemic go on and on and resolve on it's own.
Just because there is a pandemic at hand, it doesn't mean that other essential and non-essential healthcare services stop existing.

This pandemic has taken a huge toll on the healthcare infrastructure, not only in India, but globally.
You ask me why Vaccine?

Your opinion is shaped by the media that is only reporting a "99% recovery" and "vaccine side effects".

My opinion is shaped by the real world situation, considering a huge number of factors, in hospitals all across the nation.

We are not the same.
You ask me Why Vaccine?

We all want this pandemic to end.

That "99% recovery rate" is not going to end it.

A vaccine will.
