Thread: (rare footage and images)

Today is Nani Palkhivala's death anniversary.

Nani was not only a lawyer par excellence, but also an outstanding economist, diplomat, corporate strategist, and social activist.

Here is some rare footage, and images of him that I found:
Palkhivala, who was India's Ambassador to the U. S. speaks with U. S. President Jimmy Carter:
A young Nani had written to Chief Justice MC Chagla asking for permission to use the university library. Seeing Nani's enthusiasm, an impressed Chagla gave permission.

Many years later, Chagla was upset with Nani as he felt that Nani shouldn't have moved to corporate work.
India's greatest lawyer, Nani Palkhivala with India's greatest jurist, H. M. Seervai.

Both studied at GLC, and started off in Sir Kanga's chamber at Bom HC. Their relationship took a hit after Kesavananda. They eventually repaired their friendship.
When Palkhivala died on 11 December 2002, his long time friend Nana Chudasama paid tribute to him with this banner at Marine Drive.

'We the nation'
