(THREAD) You know if @JoeBiden wanted to do some good work & get brownie points from literally everyone here's something he could do to make up for the death of #brandonbenard which was caused by the system HE created when HE WROTE the 1994 Crime Bill:
First, he could abolish the death penalty.
It has:
Been proven to be more expensive than life imprisonment
Is wrong to allow a government the power to legally murder citzens
Often kills innocent people

Secondly, Biden could do major prison reform. If he did major prison reform and changed the justice system from one of punnishment to one of education and rehabilitation we could drastically lower the prison population and fix a lot of our racial justice problems in prison.

It's also been shown that when they change a prison system to be focused towards education & rehabilitation from punnishment it's been shown to work far better & vastly lower the amount of time people re-offend it's the system Norway has & it works well:

Third, Biden could do major drug reform.
One of the biggest problems of our criminal justice system faces is the War On Drugs which has, since its inception, been targeting mostly African American communities, hurts the poor, and let's police brutality be enforceable by law.

We must end the War On Drugs. It's a system that, as said, predominantly hurts the poor and African American communities, while reinforcing the use of police brutality.

On top of that Biden MUST legalize Cannabis for recreational use. It's been proven to help with many mental issues like depression, PTSD, Parkinsons, etc.

By doing these three things Biden can show he truly does regret the Crime Bill, b/c his half assed apology was horrible.
