I love positive energy but it's not always what we think it is.
If nothing else, it has to be authentic. It has to be true, it has to be kind, and it has to be from love. What it doesn't have to be is nice, comfortable, or watered down. It's great when it's nice but that isn't the defining factor.
If it is inauthentic, it can't improve someone's life. It can temporarily make things look good, but whatever results from inauthenticity is unsustainable.
There are some harsh truths that need to be learned or else we will stay stuck. And most these truths lie in self discovery. But self discovery sucks because you have to break yourself to make it past all of the layers you've created all this time.
The kindest people I have met in my life have told me the worst things I have heard in my life. But what they told me helped me so much because they revealed to me what was holding me back. And they said these things at the risk of me being offended. But they cared that deeply.
Your love for people should surpass your desire to be liked by them.
So many affirmations, so many candles, so many well wishes, and all of those are great but without truth they are empty. Affirm with truth, light candles with truth, wish well with truth.
I understand that we have to be sensitive. That we have to be considerate. But these cannot replace honesty. We have to be honest and accept that this life is a difficult journey and it will continue to be. And the more ambitious you are, the more difficult it will be.
Do not be rude. Be kind.
A lot of what we're going through requires getting over ourselves. And it's a recurring hurdle. At every level we'll find ourselves in, in order to transcend, we will have to get over ourselves. We are competing against ourselves.
I get it, life is difficult and we all face unique challenges. And there are things that have been done to us that were out of our control. But we have to keep at it. Keep at it until we break. And after we break we keep going until we breakthrough.
God is gracious.
