no it doesn't, did you watch the movies?

John getting back into the world of assassins ruined his entire life and the films make it clear you cannot ever truly leave a murderer's world, from almost dying in his rampages to getting forced to assassinate someone due to a debt https://twitter.com/radicalbytes/status/1337094248894590977
to getting maimed and betrayed as people he knows suffer the consequences of his transgressions

yes, they're sleek and well shot (heh) and coordinated action films but Wick is even worse off than John McClane in a typical Die Hard movie
if John Wick had just let it go, or, say

just TALKED to Viggo and said "Hey your spoiled son killed my dog and stole my car after breaking into my house."

he most certainly wouldn't have had to deal with every negative thing that happened to him
he wouldn't have had the marker he made get called

he wouldn't have got his house blown up

he wouldn't have been forced to kill what seems to be a friend

he wouldn't have had a gigantic bounty on his head

he wouldn't have been excommunicated, have had to renew his "pledge"
wouldn't have lost his ring finger and been betrayed by someone he fought to save

now he's got no money, no resources, was left half dead before a Bowery King guy scooped him up and nothing left but a burning desire for revenge

he probably should've left it alone
but could he even have?

i mean the haircut and keanu's face is shot in a way to look like a skull and this is a man who killed people for a living

and more than one character notes he probably *doesn't want to stop the killing*

because /that's who he is/
