Maybe because “substantive” dialogue about racism & justice is never based on reality but based solely on perceptions about racism or whatever the media feeds the masses. Maybe cuz there is less postures of forgiveness among current Christians & more historical lists of records of wrong. Maybe because for many, the Gospel is not powerful enough & there is too much reliance on secular theories of change that produce no eternal significance
Maybe because for those who call themselves Christians, to include pastors & theologians, they have the audacity to say the Gospel is insufficient and under the umbrella of “common grace” give credence to a subjective soft science approach to evaluating society
