. @ChiPubSchools recently asked students, teachers, and parents how they feel about returning to in-person learning during #COVID19, and the results were mixed.
The administration has looked toward reopening schools starting after the new year due to dropping attendance and grades. CPS reported a 2.9% drop in attendance from last fall and is also reporting higher percentages of failing grades across all subjects for the fall semester.
Chief Education Officer LaTanya McDade warned that the consequences of remaining online are very serious saying that “an entire generation of students” can be lost.
