the US prison system has NEVER been about rehabilitation. it’s always been abt profit and dehumanization and racism. US prisons are literally a business and a form of modern slavery. even when a prisoner such as brandon bernard shows EVIDENT rehabilitation, EVIDENT growth and-
change as a person to the point where they literally motivate other prisoners to do the same and have had an positive impact on said prisoners, this fact is evident. the justice/prison system doesn’t care abt prisoners specifically black ones. it has never been abt rehabilitation
