Gotten a few questions about whether I think it’s problematic that Biden is appointing so many Obama alums &/ or people he knows. Here’s a thread in response:

No, it’s not problematic. It’s smart. https://twitter.com/amandalitman/status/1337061768481398795
Biden has been in public life for 48 yrs. He served under 7 presidents as a Senator & was VP for 8 years. He knows EVERYONE. More importantly he knows what each of these Cabinet and WH jobs require & has selected candidates for job that meet the moment.
Appointing “cronies” is when you make your stockbroker Treasury Secretary or your son-in-law a Middle East advisor.
He knows Lloyd Austin because he was our commander in Iraq. He knows Janet Yellen bc she was head of the Fed. He knows Denis McDonough & his skills bc he watched Denis be an uniquely effective WH Chief of Staff.
Finally, Biden has been paying attention during last four years and seems to be picking an experienced team designed to handle the dire situation we find ourselves in now.

Experience and competency. It’s what the voters wanted.
