do y'all wanna know the key to true freedom? forreal pay attention and let me break it down

we don’t like the idea of authority? cause like when we hear that word, authority, we think about infringement on our freedom

but let me propose and explain as to how we CAN reconcile our freedom with the authority of the state, and in doing so how we become more free than we’d ever be

the key to this my friends, is this wonderful little idea i’ve come up with: the general will

the general will, in short, is the collective will of a citizen body within a state; basically it is just what is decided upon by the the public and supersedes the self interests of individuals and is concerned with what is best for all

when we create a government in accordance with society’s general will, we create a state that actually enhances the freedom we experience rather than inhibit it

we inevitably become more free than we could be in an isolated state of nature; cooperation and interdependency are the keys to true freedom
