Much like sex trafficking, literally nobody thinks ch*ld p*rnography is a good thing and that we should do nothing to stop it. But censorship like this is proven to only do more harm and push safe, consensual work further into the shadows on unsafe platforms/avenues.
Pornhub is rightly coming under fire for the content this website has allowed for too long, among which includes revenge porn and explicit content of underage people. But these important issues are once again being used as a red herring to invade ALL of our privacy and autonomy.
The people most impacted by this are, once again, consenting adults who rely on this platform, and the platforms that are inevitably going to follow, for their income. Make no mistake this has nothing to do with sexual exploitation.
This does NOTHING to help those who are being trafficked/exploited, it ONLY inhibits sex workers from doing one of the only LEGAL jobs they are allowed to do, which will inevitably force those very adults into situations of exploitation as a means to continue making a living.

Care about this! Publicly! Put pressure on your political leaders and your card companies to think carefully about what they're doing and the consequences of it! I did a lot of lazy retweet activism about this in 2018 and I wish I fought harder.
