My multiple thoughts on Miami not willing to budge Herro for Harden and the trade in general (a thread):
1. Miami believes Herro has a better upside+fit in Miami compared to Harden and while Harden can give them a chip, Pat possibly thinks Herro can give us more. Remember Pats always thinking about winning at the end of the day
2. Miami doesn’t need to add Herro to a trade...yet. If no one is offering anything more then what Miami is offering, why does Miami have to offer Herro. The next best player they can get is Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday from the Bucks (2 good players that already capped imo)
3. Miami might not be comfortable with giving up even more pieces alongside Herro like picks and Duncan Robinson for Harden and ruining the teams depth (just a thought)
4. Pat has always had a plan, and we know Pat is strict on following through with his plan ever since he wasn’t willing to resign Crowder to his preferred contract that wasn’t bad, but would affect the Heats 2021 Free Agency plan where they would target multiple players.
5. It could be a risk taking Harden and losing Herro since we all know how Harden is like off the court. We know his style isn’t exactly “Culture” stye and could really mess with team chemistry. (I do believe Miami can change him. If anyone can the Heat can.)
At the end of the day I wouldn’t be mad if the trade went down or didn’t. I as a Miami Heat fan believe that no matter what decision is made...Miami will win another title soon... #HeatNation 🔥
