Reincarnation was removed from Christian doctrine during the 5th Ecumenical Council in the yr. 553 (aka The 2nd Council of Constantinople). The council released a list of decrees, which sounded the death knell for the idea of reincarnation. The FIRST of these decrees read:

“If anyone asserts the fabulous pre-existence of souls, & shall assert the monstrous restoration which follows from it: let him be anathema.”
This meant that anyone believing in reincarnation was damned, & those who advocated reincarnation could be excommunicated from the Church

Lost were the mystery of Christ's teaching of a special "resurrection"- a rebirth as Jesus taught Nicodemus, symbolized by water baptism:
A rebirth of the spirit into flesh (i.e., "born of water", childbirth, reincarnation)

Mystery of reincarnation in Christianity was meant to remain mostly hidden for almost 2,000 yrs until the 1945 discovery of the lost Christian Gnostic writings in northern Egypt & the 1946 discovery of Dead Sea Scrolls at the time of the "rebirth" of the nation of Israel in 1948.

Jesus taught how his followers would reincarnate in the future with good karma.
The following Bible verse is a promise Jesus made to those who have forsaken everything to follow him:

“All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on Earth.”
