Unpopular solar opinions thread (snarky edition). I’ll add to this as cranky thoughts arise and truths must be brought to the light

1) California’s SGIP is a collossal waste of money. If you want to get batteries pay them to do useful things, not just exist

3) SREC markets- if we’re going to dwell in 2008 do I get my hair back?

4) back up battery storage is not scalable as a primary value stream to the customer. Sober up, look at the price of a whole home generator, and acknowledge that

5) there is not a scalable BTM solar+storage business in place (not that it is not possible

6) folks who want to be solar plus storage actively lobby against tariff changes which will creat the arbitrage opportunities they seek

7) If CAISO’s DER market opps haven’t worked what do thing FERC Order 2222 is actually going to do?
