Cyberpunk as a genre has a lot roots in: orientalism, fetishization of asian culture, and weird reductions of different groups.

That doesn't make the genre bad or cancelled.

it just means thinking a little more about art your engaging in and it's connection to white supremacy

I love this genre a lot and it means a lot to me from childhood

but man it's weird re-seeing the patterns in how we've framed Asians in the west

just even playing cyberpunk 2077 it's vibing so hard to asian street culture, cinema, and asethetics

some stuff is actually kind of grossly stereotyped and kind of off putting.
