COVID-19 forced my dad to close his Brooklyn Heights bakery after 43 years in business.
Losing Cranberry’s left a void in our lives, but my family couldn’t be more grateful for our BH community.

Not only did the store serve our Brooklyn Heights community, but it also brought my parents together.
My dad liked my mom and “interviewed her for a job at the bakery” at the River Cafe, a four-star restaurant below the BK Bridge.

My life has been intertwined with Cranberry’s from the day I was born and brought home to the storefront to meet my Nana.
My Nana—who baked for the store until the very day of her passing in 2008—taught me how to prepare each day’s scones, muffins, and cakes.
I used to stand on milk crates measuring ingredients for her until I became old enough to run the show myself.
