But the US isn’t duty bound to do that. It’s the EU’s softer power, the size of its market, & it being a first regulatory mover that gets the US in line. Can it find the confidence to take the same approach with the U.K.?
So rather than a treaty based mechanism, the self belief that ultimately, where the EU goes the U.K. will follow? No doubt such an approach feels v. risky for the EU right now.
